Marley, my 4-year-old Wiener dog, has been my companion and comfort for nearly five years. Last night, he suddenly became paralyzed in his hind legs and was unable to move or feel anything. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where he was referred to a neurologist at NeuroVet in Walnut Creek. Marley is currently undergoing tests to determine if he is a candidate for emergency surgery. The doctors told me that he needs surgery urgently, or he could lose mobility throughout his entire body. He is in a lot of pain right now, so they have him sedated. The situation is critical, and I am doing everything I can to help him.
The estimated cost for Marley’s care covers 24 hours of hospitalization, medications, surgery, and diagnostic tests. However, the total could increase if additional medications or a longer hospital stay are needed. Marley also needs a CT scan and a myelogram to evaluate his injury and determine the best course of treatment. This is an unexpected and devastating medical emergency, and I am reaching out for help to give Marley the best chance at recovery.
I created this fundraiser to help raise funds for Marley, who has been my companion and comfort for nearly five years. Anyone who knows him understands how important he is to me and what an incredible dog he truly is. We remain hopeful that Marley will walk again, but his prognosis is uncertain and this will be a long, difficult journey. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward Marley’s medical care, surgery, hospitalization, and recovery. For complete transparency, I will be sharing all medical records, estimates, invoices, and expenses as soon as I receive them from the hospital. For anyone who would like to verify Marley’s condition or treatment, he is currently hospitalized at Neuro Vet, a 24/7 veterinary neurology]. I am committed to providing updates and documentation throughout Marley’s treatment and recovery process. Thank you again for your support, prayers, and generosity during this difficult time.
