Please help me and my 12 yr old daughter, Marley!
This past year and a half has been hell. On top of my wife of almost 10 years walking out on my daughter and me, I was wrongfully terminated from my employer of five years. I was terminated for attendance issues which turned out to be 30+ tardies that were due to having to take my daughter to school in the morning because I am now her sole parent and with her attending a magnet school, the school doesn't provide transportation. I ended up being unemployed from December 9th to March 29 causing me to exhaust any funds in had selling everything of value that in had. On March 29th I finally started my new job at the Prep/boarding school here in town. Initially I was unaware that we would be laid off for the summer but upon finding out, I was assured that i would receive unemployment which was huge considering I was still not caught up from the previous 4.5 months with no income. Unfortunately with my former employer denying my unemployment by saying it was a for cause termination because of attendance issues, the benefits i had accrued from my former employer were treated as if I had used them and they were considered exhausted. Since I was only employed by my current employer for bout 2 months prior to the layoff I hadn't earned any more UI benefits so all i qualified for were COVID relief funds which our governor did away with two weeks into my layoff. So here I am again with no income trying to keep food on the table and a roof over my 12 year old daughter's head. Any help that you're capable of would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you!!
John and Marley
