As some of you may be aware, Marlena was diagnosed with uterine fibroids approximately 1 year ago. Marlena has been experiencing very challenging symptoms and side effects as a result of these growths, and medical experts are recommending that the fibroids be surgically removed due to their concerning sizes and locations. Part of Marlena’s journey with managing these fibroids has been taking the time and effort to consult with women’s health professionals, do her own research, and make significant lifestyle changes. A recent MRI revealed that Marlena’s fibroids are continuing to grow even with the lifestyle modifications and changes that she has implemented. Marlena has decided to undergo a couple of different formalized treatment paths to help manage these fibroids and live a healthy life. Marlena plans to undergo a procedure to either remove or shrink the fibroids that are in her uterus. Additionally, Marlena will be working with a women’s health practice for at least the next nine months that will provide her with naturopathic and holistic consultation and treatment. The intention of seeking treatment from the women’s health clinic is to get to the root cause of the manifestation of these problematic uterine fibroid growths. An invasive surgical approach to remove or reduce the size of the existing fibroids does not eliminate their potential of return and re-manifestation, and there is concern that they will continue to grow back or continue to grow in size without additional treatment. Her surgical procedure will be covered by her insurance after meeting her deductible. Her nine-month long treatment with the women’s health practice will not be covered by insurance. Marlena and her family are spreading awareness to her close community about her journey with overcoming this health obstacle; and in honor of Marlena’s 33rd birthday on September 17th, we are creating an avenue for Marlena to receive support to help her along in this journey. Any donation or gesture of support, no matter how big or small, will be extremely valued and appreciated. Please feel free to reach out to Marlena with any words of kindness during this time.
