Ayuda para mi mamá, Marlén Zapata, en su lucha contra el cáncer

Mi nombre es Evany Zapata, y hoy vengo con el corazón en la mano a pedir ayuda para mi madre, Marlén Zapata, una mujer guerrera, llena de fe, que ha estado enfrentando una de las batallas más duras: el cáncer en etapa 4, Mi madre es una madre soltera de tres hijos y mientras la cuido en casa a tiempo completo porque su seguro no cubre la atención domiciliaria, mi hermano, que tiene 22 años, es la única fuente de ingresos que tiene el hogar, mi hermana menor tiene 13 años y estamos trabajando juntos para cuidar a mi madre de la mejor manera posible, pero el dinero ha sido un problema últimamente

Mi mamá vino desde Honduras junto a sus hijos buscando un futuro mejor, lleno de esperanza y nuevas oportunidades. Pero poco después de llegar a los Estados Unidos, su salud comenzó a deteriorarse. Años atrás, en Honduras, ya le habían diagnosticado cáncer y le realizaron una cirugía para removerle la matriz. En ese momento, los médicos le dijeron que no sería necesario realizar quimioterapia. Todos pensamos que había ganado la batalla… pero el cáncer regresó, esta vez más agresivo.

Han sido cuatro años de lucha constante, de hospitales, quimioterapias, medicamentos, dolor, y noches sin dormir. A pesar de todo, mi mamá nunca ha perdido la fe. Siempre dice: “Dios tiene el control de todo.” Sin embargo, los doctores recientemente nos dieron la noticia más difícil: ya no hay más tratamientos disponibles. El cáncer se ha extendido y está en una etapa terminal.

Hoy, como familia, estamos haciendo todo lo posible por brindarle comodidad, cuidados y amor en este momento tan delicado. Los gastos médicos, medicamentos, y el cuidado diario se han vuelto muy difíciles de cubrir. Cada ayuda, por pequeña que sea, significa esperanza, alivio, y apoyo en esta etapa tan dura.

Mi mamá es una mujer que siempre dio todo por sus hijos, que siempre compartía una sonrisa, incluso en medio del dolor. Ahora queremos hacer todo lo posible para que pueda estar tranquila, sin sufrimiento, rodeada de amor y sin preocupaciones económicas.

Help for my mom, Marlén Zapata, in her fight against cancer

My name is Evany Zapata, and today I come with my heart in my hand to ask for help for my mother, Marlén Zapata, a warrior woman, full of faith, who has been facing one of the hardest battles: stage 4 cancer,my mom is a single mom of three and while I take care of her at home full time because her insurance does not cover home care, my brother who is 22 is the only source of income the household has, my younger sister is 13 and we are working together to care for my mom in the best way possible but money has been an issue lately.

My mother came from Honduras with her children looking for a better future, full of hope and new opportunities. But shortly after arriving in the United States, her health began to deteriorate. Years ago, in Honduras, she had already been diagnosed with cancer and had surgery to remove the womb. At that time, the doctors told her that it would not be necessary to perform chemotherapy. We all thought she had won the battle... but the cancer returned, this time more aggressive.

It has been four years of constant struggle, of hospitals, chemotherapy, medications, pain, and sleepless nights. Despite everything, my mom has never lost faith. She always says, “God is in control of everything.” However, doctors recently gave us the most difficult news: there are no more treatments available. The cancer has spread and is at a terminal stage.

Today, as a family, we are doing everything possible to provide her with comfort, care, and love in this delicate moment. Medical expenses, medicines, and daily care have become very difficult to cover. Every help, no matter how small, means hope, relief, and support in this very hard stage.

My mom is a woman who always gave everything for her children, who always shared a smile, even in the midst of pain. Now we want to do everything possible so that she can be calm, without suffering, surrounded by love and without economic worries.
