Hi everyone — my name is Kyle, and my fiancée Tasha and I are fundraising for our dog, Marlee.
TLDR: Marlee needs double TPLO surgery to walk again without pain. Both of her CCL's (ACL in humans) are torn, and without surgery her mobility will continue to decline. We are raising $15k to cover the cost of surgery and her recovery.
If you know us, you know she’s our whole world. She’s the sweetest, most gentle girl, and she’s been by our side through every major chapter of our lives together. Right now, she needs help that we can’t provide on our own.
Over the past year, Marlee stopped being able to walk without limping and pain. After multiple vet visits, X‑rays, and exams, we learned she has bilateral CCL tears and needs double TPLO surgery to walk normally again. Without surgery, she’ll continue to be in pain and lose mobility.
We actually tried to move forward with surgery for her first CCL tear months ago — but during the pre‑op process, Marlee had a bad reaction to anesthesia. The vet team became concerned she might have an underlying heart condition, so the surgery was stopped immediately. We spent nearly $3,000 on that attempt, plus the emergency cardiology consult that followed. Thankfully, the cardiologist confirmed her heart is healthy and she’s safe for surgery, but we were left with the bill and no progress on fixing her leg. Now that both CCLs are torn, the situation is even more urgent.
The estimate for her surgeries, hospitalization, medications, and follow‑up care is $15,000 — an amount we simply can’t cover alone, no matter how hard we try.
We’re doing everything we can on our end:
- Applying for financing
- Talking to insurance
- Cutting expenses
But even with all of that, we can’t reach this number fast enough. And she can’t wait.
Estimated Costs:
- TPLO Surgery (both legs): $12,000–$14,000
- Post‑op care & medications: ~$1,000
- Rehab/physical therapy: $1,000–$2,000
Marlee still tries to wag her tail even when she can’t stand — she’s trying so hard to stay her happy self. She deserves the chance to walk, run, and live without pain again.
If you’re able to donate anything — truly anything — it would mean the world to us. Every dollar helps us get closer to giving her the surgery she needs. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page helps more than you know.
Thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping us fight for our girl.
With gratitude,
Kyle, Tasha & Marlee
