Help Marla Kick Cancer's Ass!

If you have ever been to The Heron then you have been well taken care of by Marla and Paul.  Their mission is always to make you feel welcome, relaxed, well fed and like you are a member of the family. 

As a part of their community if you have ever been touched by tragedy they are the first ones to feed you and will continue to feed until you are able to function. 

They quietly contribute to countless charities, sponsor Toys for Tots annually, go above and beyond for their staff who they consider family and are very generous to many organizations.

Now it is time to take care of them.  After surviving the very difficult year and coming through it with quality and grace, and just when they were working diligently toward the re-opening of The Heron, Marla has been diagnosed with Triple positive invasive ductal carcinoma which is especially aggressive.  A few days ago they received the devastating news that she has also tested positive for cervical cancer. She has two forms of cancer and will be fighting both of them simultaneously.

The first battery of tests were uninsured and they have racked up some hefty bills.  There is emergency insurance now but there are a multitude of treatments that are not covered.  There will be chemo, a mastectomy, hysterectomy, radiation and possible experimental treatments.  Obviously Marla will have to take a lot of time off work and will be travelling often for all of these treatments.

They would never ask for help so we are asking for them.
Let's help take care of them as they have taken care of us for so long. 

Their restaurant has been a heartbeat of our community where you know you can always go for a fantastic meal, a perfect drink, a great playlist and a general sense of belonging.

Marla and Paul are facing an epic battle and anything and everything contributed will help ease their burden and give her peace of mind while focusing on fighting and healing.
