From Mark’s wife Talania, “Last Friday was the most terrifying day my family has ever experienced. Around 2pm on the 26th of February, Mark had an aneurysm rupture causing a stroke. We did not know right away what was happening as it was a slow progression of symptoms. Finally got him convinced to get in the car and head to the ER. It's been one hell of a week with a whirlwind of emotions ranging from grief, to anger, to exhaustion. He's currently stable in ICU with his blood pressure being closely monitored. CT scans show the bleed hasn't progressed. All signs point to recovery, but that doesn't mean hiccups haven't occurred or that the challenges are over. He will need rehab for speech, reading, and writing, as well as inpatient physical therapy. I will say we were lucky that he has retained most of his memories and ability to do most things. We never imagined we'd be here at this moment.
I wanted to say thank you to those that have helped and reached out. Please say a prayer, send good thoughts, and hope for us through all of this.”
Unfortunately, when this tragedy struck Mark was unemployed and uninsured. Thus far he has been denied state benefits. As you can imagine, his medical expenses will be astronomical.
Mark is a dedicated father of three and at the time he was taking care of their one year old daughter during the day. They will now need to pay for child care so that Talania can continue to work. This year has been a struggle for so many, but we hope to get any assistance at all from people. We would also be grateful for ideas, knowledge, and experiences. Every little bit helps, and the Sullivan family will be eternally grateful. Help Mark get his life back. Thank you.
