Help Me Leave My Kids a Legacy — Not Debt
My name is Mark Weidhase. I was already disabled from military service and a major cycling accident when I had a heart attack in 2019. I was diagnosed with Giant Coronary Ectasia, an extremely rare heart condition affecting the left anterior descending artery — the “widowmaker.” It causes dangerous artery enlargement, slow blood flow, and high risk of clots and heart attacks. There is no cure, and it’s getting worse. I am blessed in that I have a cardiac alert service dog whose timely alerts have saved me several times.
After a career of serving others, I can no longer work. Even a short walk leaves me exhausted. During the five-year battle for social security disability benefits, I was forced into debt to keep my youngest child housed and in college. My goal now is simple: pay off this debt so my children can receive my $40,000 veterans life insurance instead of seeing it disappear to creditors.
Your support will give my family the gift of security and peace of mind when I’m gone. Every dollar helps. Thank you for reading, sharing, and caring.
