Update 7/15/24
The Family is requesting that a contribution to this fund be made in lue of flowers! Thank you for your prayers and support!
Update 7/9/24:
After returning from Mayo for the treatment of breakthrough pain on Saturday Mark was placed into hospice care. Mark's journey ended this morning surrounded by a loving wife and his immediate family as he was welcomed into heaven.
I ask that you keep them in your thoughts, prayers and continued support as they transition to living only with the loving memories they had with Mark. The Wojcik family needs your help more now than ever to support Mark's two plus years of medical care.
My request is that this message goes far beyond Facebook and GoFundMe alone and of social media.
We have all been so blessed to have known Mark and appreciate the support of friends and all the communities that the Wojcik family has touched over the years.
Initial Post: This go fund me request is being created on behalf of Mark and Kim Wojcik to assist with their financial needs after the strain of metastatic cancer and Alzheimer's disease.
In March of 2022, Mark was found unresponsive in his home from a hypoglycemic coma. After searching for answers, it was found that Mark had Neuroendocrine Islet Cell Insulinoma. This is an extremely rare tumor of the pancreas that produces too much insulin, resulting in hypoglycemia. Since then, Mark's cancer has metastasized into his liver, lungs, bones and lymph nodes. Mark has also recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
Mark has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and was in the process of building an ice cream business. The pandemic was a huge hit to the business. More importantly, Mark was then too sick to rebound and see his dreams of bringing the company to fruition. Mark enjoyed every day of working and had planned on working for many years to come. Kim was also forced into early retirement to care for Mark and assist with his physical and cognitive needs.
The cancer coupled with Alzheimer's disease has indiscriminately created devastating day to day financial struggles and an uncertain future. The Wojcik's have been very generous to others in need throughout their lives and would be the last ones to request help from others. Lifelong friends are requesting your help in the face of medical debt and allowing for financial stability while they continue to fight for Mark's health and well-being.
Those of you that know Mark know that he would do anything for his friends, family and even some strangers. If you don’t know Mark, let us say that Mark is the friend you wish you had! Thank you in advance for your prayers, kind thoughts and contributions!
forwarding this post on to your contacts will act as a multiplier enabling us to meet their financial needs. Please share!
