Meet Marko Stjepanovic, the current president and former social chair of the Lambda-Sigma Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at James Madison University. During this past summer, Marko was diagnosed with a Stage III malignant tumor. He was forced to miss almost the entirety of the Fall 2022 semester to go through three cycles of BEP Chemotherapy.
After going through the required chemotherapy for his situation, Marko passed all the tests that led him to believe his cancer was a past thought and he had beaten it. However, recently he received the devastating news that traces of his cancer still remain and have spread to his lymph nodes. Therefore, Marko will have to undergo a large surgery called Retroperitoneal Lymph Node Dissection, in order to remove what still remains of the cancer. He will travel to Indiana for the operation in less than a month, where the top doctors in the country reside for this specific surgery.
Marko is a beloved individual across the JMU community and has had a tremendously positive impact on anyone that he has met in his 20 years in this world. He’s always been an extremely bright individual and successful athlete, studying Kinesiology with a pre-medicine minor as well as always competing in multiple sports at any point of his life. Please help his single mother in any way possible through this by donating, spreading this page, and keeping their family in your prayers. All donations earned through this page will help cover the costs of his chemotherapy, surgery, travel, and any other medical bills his mother may encounter.
