Help Mar’Kita Achieve the Future She Deserves

My name is Britney, and I’m the proud mother of a beautiful, hardworking young woman named Mar’Kita. She has always dreamed of going to college — not just for herself, but to build a better future for our family. She has the heart, the ambition, and the determination to succeed. All she needs now is the support to get there.

As her mother, I want nothing more than to give her everything she needs to chase her dreams. But life has taken a turn that I never expected.

I am currently living with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Dialysis, treatments, exhaustion, and constant medical challenges have changed my daily life in ways I never imagined. I fight through it because I’m a mother — because Mar’Kita needs me — but ESRD has made it extremely hard to work enough to support her college goals the way I desperately want to.

There is nothing harder than watching your child shine, knowing their future is bright, and feeling like your illness is standing in the way. It hurts my heart that I can’t do more on my own. Mar’Kita has stood by me, supported me, encouraged me, and stayed strong even when she’s scared. She deserves a chance to step into the world without carrying the weight of my illness on her back.

That’s why I’m asking for help.
