Ever since I was a little girl with an Easy Bake Oven, I dreamed of opening my own bakery. On June 1st, 2025, I took a leap of faith and signed a lease for my dream bakery in downtown Los Angeles, thinking I’d be able to open quickly. But the journey has been so much more challenging than I ever imagined. From permits and plans to contractors, inspections, fees, and endless delays, I’ve faced obstacle after obstacle. I’ve gone through countless contractors and architects, lost money and time, and even had money stolen during the process. I had to switch units after my original space was denied, and I’ve had to navigate the permitting process mostly on my own, paying fee after fee and learning things nobody teaches you.
After all the setbacks, I finally got the final building permit and plumbing has officially started, but I’ve lost a significant amount during this process, which put a dent in what I was supposed to use for my buildout.
The funds raised here will go directly toward construction, equipment, supplies, and hiring so I can finally open my bakery and serve my community. Every bit of support brings me closer to making this dream a reality. Not just for me, but for everyone who’s been cheering me on.
Building this bakery would make my 7 year old self happy. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little girl starting off with the easy bake oven. Helping me bring this to life would not only show that you believe in the dream but that you know how hard it is to keep your passion alive.
