Help Mark finally get "over the hump!"

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Mark. I am 65 years old, retired on disability since 2017. I was living alone at that time (and still am) since my wife left me when she found out that I was now at end-stage renal disease in 2014, which was the reason for my original disability. I worked my regular, full-time job until actual retirement in 2017.

Since my retirement, I have worked hard to live on a fixed income while dealing with my illnesses and disability. I've been mostly successful during that time with small part-time jobs that I could handle. My daughter and brother have helped me both physically and financially, but neither are wealthy, and I know I have been a strain on them lately. When I say lately, I mean especially over the past 8-9 months. During that time, I've had a string of misfortunes, accidents, and illnesses that have severely limited my ability to earn extra money to supplement my fixed income through part-time work. These started last summer when I finally overcame a severe, unexpected surgery, had caught up financially, and was working at a good, part-time job delivering DoorDash. Then, my transmission went out. Being without a vehicle for the three weeks it took to get my car repaired, plus the cost of the repair, began to put a strain on my income (thank you to my brother and daughter's help here). Shortly after that, in July of 2024, I suffered a very serious shingles outbreak. This left me bedridden for six to eight weeks before it healed enough to alleviate my pain enough to walk. Unfortunately, after completing treatment, the breakout immediately resurfaced to the same level as before (this is very unusual). So, again I was bedridden for another six weeks or so. Again, I was able to finally recover financially with the help of my daughter and brother and made it through the holidays.

During all this time, I fought through depression and loneliness, as I continue to do.

Once again just seeming to "get over the edge," I had a serious car accident on January 19, 2025. That accident left me bedridden again until mid-March. I still suffered pain and movement limitations but was ready to work. Then, another sudden surgery. This was a "minor" heart surgery (if there are "minor" heart surgeries). However, it has left me, for now, very short of breath and unable to work still. Finally, I have just found out that my transplanted kidney is showing possible signs of rejection. Upon hearing that, and knowing the strain I have already put on my family, I decided to go public for help. I'm just asking for enough to get "over the hump" again until I'm ready to work part-time again.

Thank you SO much in advance for any consideration you may give. I'm humbled to ask. You are blessed by helping.

Thank you!
