Friends Helping Friends because we all “Get By With A Little Help From Our Friends”. Mark Thompson, needs our help and support to seek continued medical care at Mayo Hospital in Rochester, MN. Mark has been trying his best to put on a smile and put up a good fight since March when first hospitalized with possible auto immune and neurological disorder. Unfortunately, his medical journey is far from over and is now taking him to Mayo Hospital for further diagnosis and care.
To know Mark is to love him and his laughter and smile that he has been struggling to keep as he goes through some really tough times. Due to constant muscle weakness, numbness and tingling in extremities, dizziness, loss of balance, and extreme fatigue Mark has been unable to work since first hospitalized in March.
Mark is the loving single father, homemaker, and amazing chef to two great kids. As any parent knows, but especially a father you spend your life wanting to be the one that is strong for your kids and protect them. Even when his legs are shaking and weak he is sitting down on stool to prepare wonderful home cooked meals. While his own strength is failing he has tried to remain positive, hopeful, strong, and smiling for his kids. Unfortunately, after multiple hospitalizations and extensive medical work-up Mark is hearing the words that no one ever wants to hear,
“ your medical case is very complex, possibly rare, and needs further expert help”. We all know Mark Thompson is a rare breed and special guy, but you never want to hear those words from a doctor.
Mark, is in need of a lot of love and support financially, physically, and emotionally. We are looking to raise money and people’s awareness of what our good friend is going through. Hoping to show Mark Thompson how much people really care about getting him healthy and smiling again. Making people smile and laugh is Mark’s favorite thing in life. We are hoping that through donations and support we can all help him feel loved, supported and put a smile on his face; as he faces the next steps of his medical journey.
