Hi, I am fundraising to help Marc stay mobile and live his best life.

Marc is a vibrant and happy man who has lived his entire life in a wheelchair. He has an amazing sense of adventure, loves to be on the go and experience new things. Marc does require assistance in every facet of his life. He lives in a care home in the Lower Mainland of BC (with 24hr staffing). Marc does visit local family weekly and other family on Vancouver Island Monthly for the weekend. These visits are an integral part of Marc’s family relationships and mental health. Marc’s adventures fuel his zest for life.

As with all of us, Marc has grown with age. This has made this more difficult for his family and care givers to maneuver his wheel chair. Limiting the amount he is able to leave his home. He is in a day program, but anything outside of the structured program has become more limited. Marc’s visits with family are becoming increasingly difficult. As he ages, so are his family members. His trips to Vancouver Island require significant strength to get on and off the ferry as well as visit areas he loves to go to.

Recently an application for funding for a Empulse Power Assist was rejected by the Ministry. This motor for his wheelchair gives power at the push of a button. This would allow anyone accompanying Marc to move him without fear of injury to themselves. Marc, his family and his care aides would benefit from this aid allowing Marc to live his best life.

Marc loves to be out and about, often in attendance at Community functions, events, concerts, local parks, even at the mall…always with his infectious smile.
