Help Mark Simmons to recover

I am Mark's father and together with my son Richard Simmons, who many might know and the support of extended family members, I am setting up this site to further support Mark.

On Saturday, 29 April, 2023 Mark suffered a medical event that resulted in him being admitted to ICU at Vibhavadi Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. Following several days on a Ventilator to assist with his breathing he has now been moved out of ICU and into a ward. The medical team are working on various aspects around complicated health issues that take into account Mark's circumstances leading up to this event. As many of you would know, in recent years Mark has struggled with a number of personal challenges that have impacted on his health and now lands him in this serious position.

There is an immediate need to cover medical costs as Mark does not carry any insurance. Medical costs are currently running at about US$ 2,000 per day with an anticipated recovery expected to take some time. We are seeking to raise funds that will see Mark able to receive ongoing hospital care. There is a long journey ahead for Mark and getting him back on his feet is just the first part. All funds raised will be administered by Richard who will ensure full transparency.

These current and ongoing costs are going to be higher than the resources available from family and that is why we are setting up this fund. Whatever amount you can contribute to help him get through this tough time is much appreciated.

gofundme.com only operates in select countries and Richard is presently working in Manila, Philippines where gofundme.com do not operate, nor do they operate in Thailand, therefore, I have opened this account from where I live in Australia. We wanted to be completely transparent from the outset.

Mark is a terrific fella and though perhaps he should have reached out for help earlier, we speak on his behalf now in appreciating any assistance that you may be able to give.
