GOFUNDME PAGE FOR MARK “ROSIE” LAVETTE
Please help “Rosie” be at peace knowing no burden is left for his daughter
RIP our Brother January 20th 1966 – January 12th 2022
My name is Mike Paschall and I am fundraising to help Mark “Rosie” Lavette truly go in peace by helping his family avoid a challenging financial burden upon is passing. “To know him is to love him” - No expression could better capture Rosie. If you are reading this and knew Mark Lavette – you immediately have a memory that includes a big smile and a booming laugh and his wondering “What you up to” regardless of his personal circumstances. If you didn’t know him but have been referred to this page, I hope what is provided here is enough to allow your benevolence to kick in and help support Mark and his daughter Alyssa Lavette. No one I know has endured so much – losing his father (James Lavette) at a very young age leaving behind 7 children, lost his mother (Miss Henrietta Lavette) also too early, lost his 3rd in line brother (Jamie Lavette) in his early 20’s, has personally been on dialysis for over 20 years, went through double leg amputations in 2021 and cheated death many times over the last decade. He fought with everything to survive and make the best of his situation to see his daughter grow up. He survived with a smile on his face and continued to check in on his family and friends until the end. If he ever left a message for you nothing is better than to hear “Its Big Daddy calling to see what you up to”
Rosie’s body just had no fight left after contracting Covid balanced against every other health challenge he endured. He was able to go to rest after having a final conversation with his daughter in which the nurse noted his heart activity on his monitor as they spoke so she can be at peace knowing he went with her as the last person he spoke with – nothing could have been better for him.
Personally, I’m glad to say I ran with Rosie for 50 years a friend and our memories were discussed & shared - so my thoughts will be of those conversations & everything we did from age 6 to today - he hopes those that knew him will have fond memories to reflect on - that’s how he wants to be remembered for the good times and the laughs and smiles.
I’m staring this fundraising campaign for two reasons – To cover Rosie’s funeral expenses and not put any burden on Alyssa and avoid a financial hardship which has always been Mark’s primary concern with all the care and support she has provided him throughout her young life. She had to grow up way too soon and could not have been more mature or stronger in dealing with her father’s care and support no matter the situation she was put in.
Additionally, and more important to Mark I hope to establish a fund with any remaining dollars to help give Alyssa a start on her individual pursuits as she sets out on growing up and living her life which her father will truly be at peace about as he always felt the burden, he placed on her.
100 percent of your donated funds available will go to what was just described. I will personally oversee that his expenses are covered, and Alyssa gets to start to grow up and see life supported by your generosity in memory of Mark.
God Bless the Lavette Family, you for your generosity. No one deserves peace any more than Mark Lavette – affectionately known by all as Rosie & Big Daddy!
