For a long time, Mark has been battling serious, unexplained health issues. He struggled with severe stomach problems, daily diarrhea, and swelling that made his abdomen look as if he were nine months pregnant. Over time, he lost more than 250 pounds due to being so sick. Despite countless doctor visits, no one could figure out what was wrong.
Recently, doctors finally discovered the cause: a stricture in his colon. On Wednesday, Mark underwent surgery to remove it. While doctors had hoped for a robotic procedure, his stomach was too distended, and they had to perform open surgery. In addition to a large incision closed with staples, Mark now has a colostomy bag. The hope is that it can be reversed in the future, but for now, it’s a major life adjustment.
This recovery will take time, and Mark is uncertain how long he’ll be unable to return to work. He currently has insurance for the next month, but starting in October his income will drop to a very small amount—nowhere near enough to cover basic needs.
We are raising funds to help Mark with:
• Medical bills and supplies
• Food and everyday living expenses
• Support while he recovers
Mark has been through so much already, and the last thing he should have to worry about right now is how to keep up with bills while trying to heal. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference and will be deeply appreciated. If you aren’t able to give financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help us reach others.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support for Mark during this difficult journey. ❤️
