Hey everyone! My name is Chelsey & this isn’t something I would normally do because I hate asking for any kind of help, but after a pep talk this morning, I was told to accept help and never feel bad about people wanting to help when someone is in need.
Mark fell and broke his ankle into 3 pieces this past Saturday night at the bar I work part-time at. He was rushed immediately to the hospital because his ankle looked like a limp spaghetti noodle when he picked it up. They performed an emergency surgery Sunday morning and placed his ankle/leg into an external fixator device for the next 2 weeks. He finds out soon when the next surgery is to remove the device and our next steps in this process.
He was in between jobs as he was let go at the end of July from his old employer and working side work with our buddy making cash each week. He was deciding what he wanted to do next in his career because he didn’t want to go back to tree work as it takes a toll on your body. Well, now he won’t be looking for a job anytime soon, at least for the next 6 weeks or so.
Due to being let go, he had no insurance and my open enrollment didn’t start until October of this year. He has no money flowing in & we have no major help in regards to anyone getting him to and from appointments other than myself or helping at home. I work 2 jobs as is with no available PTO at my day job. They are very understanding at my day job, and I have the capability to work from home when needed, but I am still needed in the office.
He's applied for all the options that are out there and we are waiting to hear back to see if he qualifies for anything.
If you are able to help monetarily in any way, we are forever grateful. If not, please just pass on some kind words of encouragement for the days ahead of us.
If you prefer to donate elsewhere, I have Apple Pay [phone redacted], Cash App $chelscapps & Venmo @chelseycapps1
