For over a decade, I’ve dedicated myself to the Pittsburgh skateboarding community, striving to be a positive force for the youth and those around me. My journey hasn’t been easy—after being blacklisted by local skate shops for working with a competitor, I faced not only professional setbacks but also a significant toll on my mental health. Despite these challenges, I continued to push myself to be better for the community I love.

Recently, my life changed dramatically. On April 4th, while tossing a skateboard to ride, I suffered a severe shoulder injury. What should have been a routine visit for care turned into a nightmare due to medical malpractice while I was sedated. My shoulder, which was not fractured before the visit, is now a source of constant pain and limitation. This injury has led to recurring hospitalizations and mounting medical bills, all while I try to maintain my independence and support others.

I’ve lived on my own since I was 14, learning to navigate a world that often felt unwelcoming. Everything I’ve achieved, I taught myself, and I’ve always tried to give back—cofounding the Oakland DIY and mentoring young skaters. Now, I find myself in need of help. Financial support will go directly toward resolving outstanding medical bills from the start of my shoulder injuries to my current situation, and will help me begin essential therapy when the time comes. More than anything, I want to focus on healing so I can continue to be there for the community that has kept me going all these years.
