My Name is Mark Freelove and I live with my dad in a small town outside of Ithaca, NY. My father is my primary caretaker and my Sister helps me regularly with my daily needs. I have Cerebral Palsy and have used a Wheelchair all of my life. I require a special Accessible Vehicle for transportation to get me to and from necessary destinations, and most importantly to my medical appointments.
In order to get the necessary medical treatments I need monthly, I have to travel quite a distance (over 100 miles) and need a reliable vehicle to get me there. I cannot drive so my father or sister have to take me to these appointments. The current Vehicle we have is over 20 years old and the repairs on it to keep it running have been very costly or are unattainable and at this point the van can not be repaired.
I am a tall guy and use a motorized wheelchair. Both of these factors make a standard conversion van too small for me to fit in with my wheelchair. I need a larger van, preferable one with a rear lift that is the easiest for me to enter and exit. These type of vehicles are really expensive and can cost in upwards of $50,000 in used condition.
Please help me get a newer, reliable vehicle that will hopefully last me decades. My dad, sister and I promise to keep it in good shape. Thank you for considering making a donation to my fundraiser and helping me reach my goal.
