Hello, my name is Mark and I run the YouTube channel Mark Fixes Stuff, where I repair and restore old computers, consoles and other bits of tech.

Many of you will know my story. After the house fire a few years ago I lost everything, and thanks to the kindness of this community I was able to start again.

I’m now lucky enough to have a real forever home and a garage that could be turned into a proper workshop. It would let me work safely with my bigger tools, like my ultrasonic cleaner, laser cutter and resin printers, which all need good ventilation. Being near marshland, the garage needs lining, heating and proper electrics to keep things dry and protect my equipment. I had budgeted for the work, but urgent repairs to the house – plumbing, flooring and a new bathroom – have taken those funds, along with the extra costs of permissions and urgent electrical upgrades. I had budgeted for the build prior to moving, but unforseen repairs to the entire bathroom and the ground floor flooring ate up that budget and much more besides.

If I can raise the amount needed I will keep a diary of the build, from empty garage to finished workshop, and it will mean I can finally take on bigger projects and make better videos for you.
