Help Mark Fight Multiple Myeloma
Donation protected
To our dear friends and family,
Our beloved friend Mark has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Over the past 25 days, Mark has spent 11 days in the critical care unit and has seen dozens of specialists. His journey has included cancer treatments, dialysis, multiple surgeries, constant medical attention and round-the-clock care.
Multiple myeloma is a rare blood cancer that affects plasma cells, which are a type of white blood cell that helps fight infections. In multiple myeloma, cancerous plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow, crowding out healthy blood cells and causing complications such as bone pain, kidney problems, and frequent infections. While there is no cure, treatments can help manage symptoms and slow the progression of the disease. Unfortunately, the cancer treatments will be a lifelong necessity.
Despite these challenges, Mark remains incredibly positive and strong-willed. His resilience and determination help him overcome obstacles every day. Mark has been deeply appreciative of the love and support he has received from everyone.
As you know, Mark's music has been such a gift to us all. As a talented musician, he has brought joy and inspiration to many. Mark has also been incredibly generous and involved in numerous fundraisers, always ready to help others in need. Now, it's time for us to help him.
The news of Mark's diagnosis has been devastating to his family, friends, and everyone whose life he has touched through his music. The costs associated with multiple myeloma are substantial. Diagnostic tests, specialist visits, and ongoing treatments can be overwhelming. For example, the cost of a multi-medication therapy for multiple myeloma can range from $74,000 to $256,000 per year. Additionally, hospital stays, dialysis, and home health care add to the financial burden.
We are reaching out to you, our dear friends, to help support Mark during this difficult time. Your contributions will go towards his rising medical bills, seeing specialists, ongoing treatments, dialysis, and home health care multiple times a week. Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity. Together, we can help Mark fight this battle with strength and hope.
