Help Mark Fight Against Glioblastoma
Donation protected
Hi friends,
On May 28th, 2025, while at home, our wonderful friend Mark experienced a sudden seizure — and in the process, suffered a broken shoulder. Whether the injury happened during the seizure or later in the hospital remains unclear. While enduring intense pain and awaiting shoulder surgery, doctors couldn’t seem to determine the cause of the seizure.
After finally undergoing surgery, Mark was sent to a rehab facility and eventually returned home to begin recovery. But just a week later, Mark became disoriented and confused. His partner Fina (aka best girlfriend ever) rushed him to the ER, where a CT scan revealed a 2.6 cm mass in his brain. Emergency brain surgery followed the next day.
The diagnosis was Glioblastoma — an aggressive and fast-growing form of brain cancer. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is just 18 months.
Mark is now preparing to begin radiation and chemotherapy in just two weeks, all while still recovering from shoulder surgery. He’s unable to work or drive, and he and Fina are now navigating a mountain of medical expenses.
Many of you have already sent support via Venmo — thank you so much. If you're able to help further through this fundraiser, it would mean the world. Every contribution helps ease the load and shows Mark and Fina they’re not facing this fight alone.
With love and deep gratitude,
shannon
