Mark Clemons and his wife have faced an unimaginable series of challenges in just a few days. On December 30th, Mark's wife needed a medical procedure at St. Joseph's hospital, and Mark was there to support her. While she was inside, a nurse found Mark unresponsive in the car and immediately rushed him to the emergency room. Mark, who is disabled and relies on oxygen 24/7, was admitted to the ICU and placed in an induced coma. The doctors explained that he was very sick and needed to be kept calm so they could find the right treatment. His wife, after a long and emotional day, went home late that night, hoping for good news in the morning.

The next day, determined to be by Mark's side, his wife got into the car to return to the hospital. Unfortunately, she hit a patch of ice and crashed into a guard rail. Thankfully, she was not hurt, but the car was badly damaged. When she called the insurance company, she learned that there was no coverage on the car. Mark had been sick for much longer than anyone realized, and now, on top of his critical illness, they were left without transportation or insurance. Friends and family have helped as much as they can, but the cost to repair the car and get insurance is more than they can manage alone.
