Meet Mark Beal.

A longtime co-worker and friend, Mark has found himself in a very tough spot. After retiring about a decade ago, he started his own fitness business — fitting for someone who truly lives to work out. Unfortunately, the business failed, wiping out his retirement savings and leaving him to rely solely on Social Security.

For years, that was manageable thanks to a stable and affordable housing situation. But three months ago, everything changed when his landlord sold his home, and Mark suddenly became homeless. Since then, he’s been staying in shelters — a grueling routine that requires daily calls to multiple places just to find a bed.

Still, he was managing — until he broke his foot. Now, he can’t get around as he once did, and the shelter system is nearly impossible to navigate in his condition.

Mark needs a short-term place to stay while his foot heals, and then he plans to move to North Carolina to live with relatives. The challenge: his phone — with all their contact info — was stolen at a shelter, and he had no cloud backup.

We have a plan to help Mark get back on his feet, reconnect with family, and start fresh. We just need a bit of time and financial support to make it happen.
