Help Mark and Dorothy Overcome Medical and Financial Strain

Hi, my name is June Dilly and I am reaching out with a heavy heart.

My sister in law, Dorothy, has been battling serious health issues for several years. She has been diagnosed with Small Vessel Disease leading to her brain causing dementia issues, L5-S1 disc causes left leg neuropathy and weakness which requires her to use a cane, rollator, or wheelchair on most days, and lung disease which causes recurring pneumonia, pleural effusion, and abscesses, and excessive white matter lesions on her brain. She has been in and out of the hospital for weeks at a time, on and off ventilation, working hard at physical therapy, and despite her strength and resilience, her condition has made it impossible for her to work.

As her primary caregiver, my brother Mark has had to take a significant time away from his own work to help her with daily care, transportation, and medical appointments as well as be her advocate throughout her hospital stays. If you know my big brother, his heart is one to serve and he spends his life committed to working hard to keep their home and provide health insurance while balancing taking care of his wife, my elderly parents, and those many who he serves and loves in the community. He is always committed to taking care of everyone around him without asking for anything in return.

Overtime, the bills have piled up-hospital stays, parking, medications, ambulances, physical therapy, and everyday living expenses. He has worked his full time job along with side hustles to stay afloat, is prideful and does not want to ask for help, but we are at a point where he can no longer do this alone. The financial stress is overwhelming and he is facing the very real threat of losing the stability they have left. While out of our comfort zone, we are humbly asking for help to get them back on their feet while caring for her continuous hope for recovery.
