Help Mark and Debbie through cancer
Donation protected
My partner Sam and I had the pleasure of meeting Mark and Debbie in the most unfortunate of places. The cancer center. Sam and Mark had started chemo the very same week and became great friends. Mark always talked of “his girl” Debbie and how all he wanted was to be able to continue to take care of her - so of course we had to meet her too. He spoke of his love for her every single day. We all began weekly double dates over coffee and became family. Debbie has struggled with her own health issues and Mark had been the one both working and assisting Debbie until the cancer changed things. I’m pretty sure I heard him speak more of her through his treatment than himself - they have a beautiful love.
That being said, when Sam finished chemo and became cancer free, Mark was told his treatments are a “lease on life” and still had to do radiation and immunotherapy. His arthritis flared having to change medicines so nothing would interact with the treatment and was unable to move much at all some days. His short term disability is running out and soon they will not have enough to continue on without Mark returning to work, cleaning for a grocery store. Mark is a wonderful provider and an ambitious man who used to scale mountains, so he is happy to return to work even though he feels unsure of his physical capabilities. But…Mark and Debbie should not have to cope with this sort of pressure amidst so much struggle. They have offered to pay for our coffee when we had nothing, offered friendship to us in our time of need. Please help me to give security to Mark and Debbie as they enjoy their life together. No one deserves it more than them. ♥️
