My Story:
Hi everyone,
My name is Marius, and I’m in a really tough spot right now. It’s hard for me to even write this, but I’ve come to a point where I don’t have any other options.
Two weeks ago, I was kicked out of my place in Baltimore. I couldn’t pay July’s rent, and when August came around, I still didn’t have enough.
I was trying so hard to stay afloat. I had some work-from-home jobs that seemed like a blessing, but then I got laid off.
I hustled, picking up any local job I could find, but it just wasn’t enough. To make matters worse, I was supposed to get paid $2,000 from a company I worked for called Olidia Care, but they stiffed me.
I’ve been trying to get that money back through the Maryland Department of Labor, but there’s no telling when or if it’ll come through.
With nowhere else to go, I scraped together $50 and caught a bus to New Jersey. I’m couch surfing with some friends from high school, but this arrangement is coming to an end. It’s not really their place, and I can’t keep imposing on them.
I’ve been fighting to get back on my feet. Every day, I apply to jobs, I go to interviews, I make calls. I even started another work-from-home job on August 8th, but it’s commission-only.
My first paycheck was supposed to come today, August 20th, but I only managed to book one meeting. I needed 40, or for that one meeting to close, to get paid.
I’m extremely positive and solution focused it’s just been one hit after another. The truth is, I don’t have family to fall back on. My dad passed away after COVID,
and my mom isn’t in my life right now. I’ve been doing everything I can to hold it together, but I’m running out of time.
Why I’m Asking for Help:
Basketball is my life. It’s what keeps me going when everything else seems to be falling apart.
Through some incredible connections, I’ve been given a shot at something truly amazing—a month-long camp and tryout in Barcelona, Spain, that could lead to a professional basketball career.

This is my dream, and I’m so close, but I can’t get there without help. The camp costs $2,500. I’ll need $500 for food while I’m there. The cheapest flights I’ve found are $800 one way, and the registration fee is $170, which is due today, August 20th.
I’m asking for $4,400 to cover these costs, including the transaction fees that GoFundMe charges (2.9% + $0.30 per donation), because I have nothing left to lose and everything to gain. This is my last shot, and I’m pouring my heart into making it happen.
How Your Donation Will Help:
* Camp Fee: $2,500
* Flight to Barcelona: $800
* Food for the Month: $500
* Registration Fee (Due Today): $170
* Transaction Fees: Approx. $130
* Total Goal: $4,400
Why This Means Everything to Me:
I’ve been through so much, and I’ve never wanted to ask for help like this. I’ve always believed in working hard, in earning my way. But right now, I’m at a crossroads. I have this incredible opportunity in front of me, but I can’t reach it on my own.
Even while couch surfing, I’ve been training every single day. I joined Blink Fitness for just $1.07 with a promo code, and I’ve been working out like my life depends on it—because it does.
Basketball is more than a game to me. It’s my lifeline, my future, and my chance to turn everything around. I’m not just asking for money—I’m asking for a chance to prove myself. I’m asking for a shot at making my dream come true. If I can make it to Spain, I know I’ll perform. I know I can earn a spot on a professional team. I just need the chance to get there.
How You Can Make a Difference:
I’ve been suffering in silence for too long. I should have asked for help sooner, but I was too proud. Now, I’m reaching out, humbly, to ask for your support. If you can donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me. If you can’t, please consider sharing my story with others. Every little bit helps, and it could be the difference between missing this opportunity and making my dream come true.
I know that if I make it to Spain, if I get on that plane, I will succeed. I will give it everything I’ve got, and I won’t let anyone down. I believe in myself, and I hope you can believe in me too.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for your kindness, and for helping me hold on to my dream. I can’t wait to make you proud. God bless you.
