My name is Marius, and 13 years ago I moved to the UK with my family to build a better future through hard work and honesty.

I started from nothing and worked tirelessly to build my own construction business from the ground up. Along the way, I learned English, integrated into British life and culture, and dedicated myself to providing for my family and delivering quality work for my customers.

Over the years, we have unfortunately been targeted multiple times by thieves. We have had trailers stolen, our van broken into, tools taken, and thousands of pounds worth of damage caused. Each time, we picked ourselves back up and carried on working harder to recover from the losses.

But this latest robbery has devastated us financially and emotionally.

After years of being repeatedly targeted, I finally invested everything I could into securing a proper industrial unit to safely store my tools and machinery. We installed strong security measures, including steel doors, protected locks, barriers, trackers, and security systems. We truly believed we had finally created a safe place for our equipment.

Only two days after moving in, organised thieves broke into the unit during the night. They cut through all the security, removed trackers, bypassed security systems, and stole our digger, a brand-new trailer, three Genie lifts, and many professional tools and machines that I rely on daily for work.

The total losses and damages are estimated at around £80,000.

This has left me and my family heartbroken and traumatised. As self-employed workers, our tools and machinery are not just possessions, they are our livelihood, our income, and our ability to support our family. Without them, we cannot continue working normally or rebuild the business we spent over a decade creating.

We never imagined we would be in a position where we needed to ask others for help, but today we genuinely have no other option.
