Help For The Vasallo Family

Hello everyone, 

On Tuesday August 18th Ernesto Vasallo lost a two week battle with Covid. He leaves behind 3 adult children and 7 minor adopted children and his beloved wife of 15 years, Maritza Vasallo. She too contracted the virus and is still ill but thankfully at home. For 15 years Ernesto dedicated his life to her and raising their children together along with fostering. We are devastated by this loss. Maritza is completely distraught and heartbroken as it all happened so quickly and couldn't be in the hospital with him. He was placed in a induced coma and went into cardiac arrest multiple times.

This GoFundMe was created so that the family can mourn without the overwhelming costs of funeral costs and day-to-day bills. We would like for her and the children to live the future they've planned for with their children. They enjoy gatherings and  spending time together while camping. We want to keep the children as comfortable as possible while Maritza recovers and help the children cope with the loss of their father. Maritza has been a foster mother for over 20 years and has never turned a child away. She welcomes every child that walks in her home with open arms providing a safe and loving home while working with her agency together to reunite the children with their biliogical parents. 

Ernesto was a kind and gentle giant whom the children and Maritza loved very dearly. I know that this past year and 8 months has been a trying time for all of us and some of you have or know someone that has lost their lives to Covid but Maritza and the family are suffering.
