My big sister is one of the most generous people I have ever met. Even though she is barely making ends meet as a single mom of two, she would literally give the shirt off her back to someone in need. She stops people in their tracks to spread joy and encouragement. In her late thirties, she works full time but just put herself through school and graduated with her bachelor's degree. Now, she is pursuing her master's to become a counselor so she can open a nonprofit, called A Village for the Village-less, that will support other single parents as they navigate the struggles of single parenting. That is exactly who Marissa is—a person who always wants the best for others, and for them to feel loved, seen, and supported. Now it’s our chance to do that for her. Marissa has only ever thought of others, and now, in this time where she literally lost everything besides the clothes on her back, it is our chance to show her the love of Jesus and pour out an abundance of blessing over her.
Recently, an electrical fire burned their home within minutes. The kids were able to get out with the dogs, but their beloved cats hid and were lost to the fire. Marissa and the children lost everything except the clothes on their back. The funds raised will help her find a new place to live, buy new clothes, furniture, and a laptop for school. Everything was lost in the fire, so this support will help her and her kids rebuild their lives.
Your prayers, support and shares mean the world to my family right now.
