Marisol and Jonathan Talbot recently faced a heartbreaking tragedy. On January 8, 2025, the Eaton fires swept through Altadena, devastating their home. The flames moved so rapidly that Marisol and Jonathan could only grab their work laptops and a few essential items for their sweet puppy, Lady, whom they adopted in November. First time puppy owners, they truly believe Lady came into their lives at this critical time to help them navigate through this overwhelming ordeal.

Marisol is an exceptional IT engineer I have the privilege of working closely with. She is incredibly intelligent, capable, and possesses an unwavering work ethic. But beyond her professional skills, she is truly a wonderful person. Marisol’s husband, Jonathan, also works in IT. They were married in 2016 and purchased their first home in Altadena in 2019. Over the years, they poured their hearts and souls into renovating their modest 1,067 square foot house, transforming it into a beautiful and cozy home. Now, they face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from scratch.

When I listen to Marisol and Jonathan talk about the community they cherish and their love for hiking Chaney Trail, Henninger Flats, and Lowe Mountain, I can feel the weight of their grief over what was lost in the fires. However, I also witness their resilience and determination to rebuild their home and contribute to the recovery of the Altadena community. Inspired by their unwavering spirit, I have created a GoFundMe campaign to support them.
