Help Marisa Vacate their record and gain stability
Update 6/22:I have a meeting with one lawyer tomorrow and another later this week- finally getting my record vacated!
I’m going to drop my GoFundMe link below. If you can donate, that would be radical- it’s more than I posted and even that number is a little mind numbing to me. But when this is all over, I will be conviction free for the first time in 14 years! That’s 14 years of barriers; housing insecurity, job denials, stigma, missed field trips, jails and institutions, ankle monitors and fines, wasted time and blows to my mental health…there is so much more. I am going to cry so hard the moment I see ‘accepted’ on a application.
I'm raising money to help me vacate my record and move on with my life after being justice involved. I've been eligible to vacate (not getting any new charges) for over 5 years. The one thing that is holding me back from renting my own apartment and other things, is my record. Being a single parent, having a stable roof over our heads is a basic need. All funds received will go towards payment of my fine (1,400) and lawyer fees to vacate (4,500). Thank you so much.
