Hi! My name is Riley, and I am putting together a fundraiser for our beloved Marisa. In November of this year, Marisa moved her entire life from California to the suburbs of Minnesota. She immediately embarked on her first-ever long, cold, Minnesota winter. Marisa had been dealing with some mental health issues prior to coming to Minnesota, and the isolation and the cold sent her on a downward spiral. I regret to say that I wasn't as available to Marisa as I wish I had been. I didn't know how bad it was until the day I received a text, Marisa wasn't ok and she wasn't sure what to do, but she needed help. I told her I could come over that evening and take her out to talk and she kindly let me know that it was too late for that. I asked permission to call non-emergency and I sent assistance her way. Marisa spent 10 days in a mental health facility, received some support, and went home. It wasn't long before she started to spiral again when she got there. The isolation, the new state, being far from friends and family, among other more personal reasons, have been weighing her down, and she's asking for help.

And for that, WE ARE SO PROUD.

Marisa has reached out to a longer-term mental health facility and will be heading there in early March. Marisa's life is the most important thing; everything else can wait. And it is, including running her full-time small business, which is her only source of income. I want Marisa to focus on herself and her health and not have to worry about money for a little bit.

That's where you and I come in. I am raising 5K to support Marisa while she is away from home and helping her get back on her feet when she returns. I hope she and her loving partner can move closer to the city when they are out of their temporary winter housing. This money will go towards rent, medical bills, and general support during this heavy time.
