Marisa underwent emergency surgery early this morning. She was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon, and her condition rapidly deteriorated. After hours of waiting, it was determined that she required surgery on her left upper arm. The procedure involved cleaning out infected tissue to prevent the infection from spreading and to promote healing. We discovered that she is battling sepsis and will require several additional surgeries.

Compounding her situation, due to the financial abuse inflicted by her former husband, she no longer has medical insurance, which prevented her from seeking medical attention days ago when she first began feeling unwell. Now, we are confronted with substantial medical bills and a lengthy recovery journey ahead.
