Hi this is Marisa’s best friend Jess. She has previously had a gofundme so you may be familiar with part of her story. Her and her family have asked me to make a new gofundme as the one from a few years ago has lost traction and they are currently in a crisis.

Marisa has been diagnosed with Gastroparesis, FND, Fowlers syndrome, CPTSD, Autism and ADHD. However we believe that her diagnosis of FND was a misdiagnosis. A year ago Marisa used the funds from her last gofundme to see a private doctor in london to do PANS/PANDAS testing, she had an extended blood panel and lots of scans. These tests showed inflammation in her brain and it is very possible she has PANS/PANDAS due to this and her raised igG4 levels. However Marisa was unable to get diagnosed as it costed so much for all the scans and tests that another consultation to get a diagnosis wasn’t possible with the funds they had left.

This brings us to now. Last week Marisa suddenly got rapidly worse. Her seizures became extremely severe with blown pupils, she has lost pretty much all function in her body and her sensation comes and goes, she moves in involuntarily ways, her speech is extremely slow and slurred, she is unable to swallow, she is also having memory problems especially with remembering who people are. Marisa has had extreme health problems in the past but nothing quite as extreme as this, it is an extremely scary position for her and her family to be in. As she is an inpatient this sudden decline was not treated as an emergency in the same way it would’ve been handled if Marisa was at home and 999 was called. We feel as though this situation is not being handled as seriously as it should be by the NHS. The NHS also do not recognise PANS/PANDAS as an official diagnosis which makes this already difficult situation much more difficult. We are looking at private clinics in London that can help Marisa however they are expensive, which is why we are asking for help. Anything that you can donate is incredibly appreciated.
