Hello friends and family,

We are starting this GoFundMe to raise support for our mother as she battles stage IV Cervical Cancer. After moving back to Lawrence to be with her children due to rising health concerns, a trip to KU medical center was high on the list. Upon being seen by medical staff a cancerous mass was found inside of Marisa. This mass had pushed into and destroyed all function of her right kidney and through two different surgeries and almost a week in the hospital, doctors were able to save her left kidney. After further scans and procedures it was confirmed that this mass was in fact Stage IV Cervical cancer which had spread to her pelvis. Going forth there will be many days of chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and therapies with hopes to get our mother to the point of full remission. This GoFundMe is solely for the purpose of helping pay for medical treatments and transportation to and from KU Med on a regular basis. We are grateful for any and every way you choose to show your support. The goal is to one day look back on this and smile and laugh once this battle is won.
