Hello, I’m Christine. I created this page for

my daughter Marisa. She’s finishing up her Masters degree at the Aaron Copland School of Music. She is in desperate need of a new flute, a professional flute.

Her current flute is semi-professional and has served her well from high school through college, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music Performance and Chinese Studies at Binghamton University. She had been accepted to the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK. but she decided to go to Aaron Copland instead so she wouldn’t have to take out loans though she needed to for this last year of school. Her flute has already been fixed twice and is well maintained but it will need more work on it this time around, unfortunately.

Sadly, my husband and I aren’t in the position to help her out with the cost as we bought a piccolo earlier this year. Besides being a full time student and spending 12-14 hours a day at school, she also works part time as a bartender to pay for her rent and living expenses. Traveling to and from school isn’t easy either which takes up precious practicing time but she is a trooper.

The flute she has been looking at will last her at least another 10 years. Hopefully she’ll have her dream job of performing with a philharmonic and/or as a substitute for Broadway. Marisa has had a natural talent for the flute since she was 6 years old and we started her lessons a year after she had begged us when she was 5.

This is a big ask but every little bit donated will help our daughter fulfill her dream. She has worked so hard to come this far and I’m hoping that her passion for performance will come true. She really has made us proud.
