Give Mario a Helping Hand
A Laborer’s Life:
The life of manual workers is often fraught with loss and tragedy on one side, and pride and perseverance on the other. Mario Ramirez’ life is no exception.
Mario is a kind, proud and hardworking laborer who has suffered multiple tragedies during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, and he needs our help.
Mario’s 2020 year of hardships:
Mario’s life in the world of the Covid-19 pandemic has meant a recent job loss and family tragedies. Working remotely or collecting unemployment are not opportunities available for a manual laborer like Mario, who must continue to work, rain or shine, to put food on the table, especially as his family’s main provider.
Mario and his wife kept working as much as possible until their entire family became ill with Covid-19 in June 2020. Thankfully, Mario, his wife, his two kids, and father-in-law recovered but Mario’s mother-in-law did not, she passed away on July 26th due to Covid-19 unexpectedly.
Neither Mario’s nor his wife’s jobs as well as their home recovered from the pandemic. They continued to make ends meet to sustain their household of now 5. His wife, a hairstylist, was affected greatly by the public shutdown of salons. Leaving Mario as the only provider to the household. He then lost his job recently leaving him to find a solution to support his family. As a professional high altitude arborist his job has always been high stakes yet he has not had any major accidents in his 17 years with this profession. He takes pride in being safe and mindful of his work.
Unfortunately, after Thanksgiving, tragedy struck - Mario sustained a serious cut to his right arm and stomach with a chainsaw, which required surgery. Mario will need multiple surgeries to reconstruct his arm and faces a long recovery which he will be unable to work. For a proud, hard worker like Mario, the inability to work for some time and the uncertain economic future will be his greatest challenges.
A Way to Help:
This fundraiser will help Mario overcome the tragedies he has suffered this year. It will let him know that people care about him and the millions of manual laborers we see out there every day helping businesses and homeowners. More importantly, it will help Mario get back on his feet while he recovers and will help him restore his pride as a laborer and family man.
Your donation will help Mario cover his medical bills (ambulance, emergency care, surgeries and rehabilitation. It will also help Mario pay for food and family expenses while he recovers.
No donation is too small - we recognize these are trying times for everyone, and your donation of any amount is appreciated. Thank you.
