Dear Friends and Family,
We are reaching out with a heavy heart to share that my father, Mario Meraz, was diagnosed with stage 4 Mesothelioma in January of this year. This devastating news has profoundly impacted our family, not only emotionally but also financially.
We are currently struggling with the burden of excessive co-pays for his doctor visits, specialized treatments that are not covered by insurance, routine bloodwork, and unexpected emergency room visits and hospital stays.
Unfortunately, my father does not qualify for Medicaid at this time, which adds to our stress. He is receiving care from Dr. Robert Ripley in Houston and Dr. Ramas in Las Cruces. We are hopeful that he may soon qualify for surgery. However, this will require ongoing travel and medical expenses that we cannot manage alone.
