Help Mario make his home accessible
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Crystal and my husband John and I are reaching out to our community with its Giant heart to help one of its own-Mario Biron. Mario had worked in social services for 25 years and he has seen first hand how people struggle and how much help is needed right here in Thunder Bay. In 2017 Mario was diagnosed with MS. He continued to work until the MS took over making it too difficult to go to work…leaving him now in a wheelchair.
He was the founder of The Friends of Olivia foundation and was also her father.
It is hard to come to terms with what was once your normal life, is now only a memory. Some days the dark clouds loom overhead and it’s a struggle mentally, physically, and emotionally.
He recently applied for funding to have his bathroom renovated to make it accessible for him as well as the front of his house, as he is now confined to a wheelchair. Leaving his home is a real chore and he needs supports to assist him so having a lift/ramp would give him some freedom….he was denied.
If you can help in anyway to bring some normalcy to Mario and his wife Bernie, they would be forever grateful and every little bit is greatly appreciated.
