Hi everyone,

We are Mario and Eliann, and in just three days we are supposed to be getting married in Malaga, Spain — what should have been the happiest week of our lives has turned into a nightmare.

We arrived in Malaga on Saturday evening, 20 June 2026, excited to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends. The following day, Sunday, we spent a few relaxing hours at the beach, looking forward to the days ahead.

When we returned to our apartment, we discovered that someone had broken in.

Our apartment had been ransacked, and the thieves had stolen everything we had set aside to pay for our wedding — approximately €10,000 in cash. This money was meant to cover our DJ, photographer, catering, venue, and transportation. In addition to the cash, they also took our wedding rings, engagement ring, and several personal belongings.

Among the stolen items was a necklace that belonged to my Nan, which she gave me for my Communion 25 years ago. It is irreplaceable and holds enormous sentimental value. Losing that necklace, along with my fiancée’s engagement ring and all the memories attached to it, has completely broken our hearts.

We are now stranded in Spain, trying to figure out what to do next. We are doing everything we can, including borrowing money from family and friends, but we still face significant expenses and uncertainty. We are devastated and struggling to come to terms with what has happened during what should have been the most joyful time of our lives.
