Help Mario Avoid Another Amputation

Hello again - it's been a while! We've been on a steady path since the new year started, which has been nice to not have life throwing big dramatic issues at us!

Thank you, everyone, for the past support and help. So far, we've been able to keep up on bills and get groceries when we need. We have dabbled back into pantry shopping a tad, but for the most part, life has been sustainable. ❤️

So, here's an update, and another plea for help! Mario has been still going to the podiatrist once a week to get antibiotic patches placed over his last amputation site where he'd lost a few more toes. There's been great blood flow, but it isn't healing as well as they'd like it to, so the plan was to do skin grafting next. We lost insurance coverage Dec. 1 of '25 when our youngest turned 18. We've been fighting to get it reinstated since then! Every visit for the patches, on top of my visits for INR tests, warfarin meds, etc., is considered out of pocket until, hopefully, insurance will go back and cover the last 5 months! We were told they were a month behind, but it's been 5 months now already! If May 1 comes and there's still no insurance, I'm under the understanding that December will for sure become out-of-pocket pay, and that's the month I had follow-up appointments for my colon surgery in November.

Today, however, he was told that because insurance is dragging their feet, the docs have no choice but to go ahead and amputate again!! It's come down to a matter of roughly $5000/visit to keep going with antibiotic patches and skin grafting as the final outcome! Mario is waiting for a paper to be emailed for him to sign and send back to get insurance reinstated, so I hope it can be done (ideally) in the next week, possibly two!

I'm begging everyone again, PLEASE, if you can help in any way to keep the patches going so Mario doesn't have to face another amputated leg, PLEASE help us get $5000 for next week's visit at least!! Thank you SO much for reading, following us, and helping out!! Much love, the Flohr family! ❤️❤️❤️
