My name is Wilson, and I was born in Marinha Grande, Portugal, 42 years ago. My entire family are natives of the area, and we have always been active and well-known in our town. Recently, Marinha Grande was devastated by a powerful storm with winds exceeding 180 km/h. The community endured more than four days without water, electricity, or gas, and the aftermath has left many residents homeless and struggling to meet basic needs.

The storm’s destruction has been overwhelming. Homes and businesses that took years to build have been damaged or destroyed, and families are facing the challenge of starting over. The immediate needs include building materials to repair homes, canned foods, and other essentials to help people get through this difficult period. Our focus is on supporting those who have lost their homes, helping them rebuild, and providing supplies to keep the city afloat while recovery efforts continue.

This fundraiser means a great deal to me because, although I cannot be present to help in person, I want to do everything I can to support my friends, family, and neighbors. Witnessing the frustration and heartbreak of people losing years of hard work is difficult to comprehend.
