HELP MARINELA WALK AGAIN! 2ND GOFUND ME FUNDRAISER
My name is Marinela, I am 18 years old. I have already spent the past three birthdays trying to recover from my surgery and although it has been difficult, I thank God because with the support I received during my last surgery I was able to afford correction and lengthening surgery of my femur, which gave me hope and strength to finish high school while in bed online.
It is 2021. A new year begins and I heavily rely on my crutches, since I cannot walk on my own, nor bend my knee.
Now, I have to undergo a new surgery to remove the device from my femur and place a plate because my bone is too weak and this would serve to finish consolidating and strengthening it. In addition, this surgery will be helping me to walk again without further affecting my knee and spine.
This surgery is performed by my insurance in Bogotá, Colombia, a different city from where I live, which is Barranquilla. But as you know because of the COVID-19 Pandemic and because we do not have the financial means, it is impossible for us to travel.
And like last time, the doctor recommends performing the surgery in the city where I live, Barranquilla, since the plane trip would affect my bone. However, the expenses in my city are too expensive since there’s only a handful of doctors that perform this type of surgery and we cannot afford them. Among these expenses we find: the purchase of a plate that lasts approximately 4 years, clinic expenses, surgeon and anesthesiologist expenses, clinical laboratories, X-rays and physical therapy in hopes to walk normal again.
Therefore, just as GoFund me helped me in the past surgery, again I go to the nobility of everyones hearts to help me and grant me this surgery that will determine the last step towards a future where I can continue to walk with my two legs, and recover the wasted years of not being able to walk. And finally enjoy my life like all 18 year olds should.

HELP MARINELA WALK AGAIN
My name is Marinela, I turned 17 from a bed in December 2019 and this is my story:
I was born premature with congenital dysplasia in my hips and while in the hospital I acquired a bacterium that caused septic arthritis in my right knee. 18 days after I was born, I underwent an operation which left repercussions in my bone that prevented the development and growth of my right femur.
As a result of this, there was a shortening in my right leg with a difference of 5cm and with a deviation in my knee (genu valgo) that is causing wear on it, a scoliosis in my spine and an imbalance in my hip. In my last year of high school, I underwent lengthening surgery in another city where they do this procedure, which prevented me from finishing my studies. It was a full year of great anxiety, filled with sleepless nights from the pain I was enduring.
Though the most frustrating thing was that the surgery was in vain because the bone of my femur deviated, making my situation worse. I am currently unable to walk on my own or bend my knee, so I use crutches and a walker in addition to requiring my mom's help to get out of bed when going to the bathroom. I thought this year I was going to focus on my recovery and graduation from school, but when I had new tests, the doctor determined that urgent surgery is necessary to align the femur so my knee does not deteriorate and help to stop the problems in my spine.
However, my medical insurance only covers this surgery in Bogota, Colombia, a different city from where I live, Barranquilla, but due to the problem of the COVID-19 pandemic it is impossible for us to travel and we simply cannot afford it due to our financial situation. Given the urgency of this surgical procedure, the doctors recommend doing the surgery in the city where I live, Barranquilla, but the expenses are too high and my mother could not afford them. Examples of these expenses are: Purchasing of an external tutor, hospital bills, surgeon’s salary, anesthesiologist’s salary, labs, x-rays, and extensive future therapies.
So with all my heart I ask you to help me to perform this surgery since I want to walk well again, free of pain and enjoy a healthy life like any girl of my age. I thank you all for the help you can give me, all your support, and your prayers for my recovery.

AYUDA A MARINELA A CAMINAR NUEVAMENTE
Mi nombre es Marinela, cumpli 17 años desde una cama en diciembre del año 2019 y esta es mi historia:
Nací prematura y con dispIacia congénita en las caderas y estando en el hospital me enferme con una bacteria que me causó artritis séptica en mi rodilla derecha. A los 18 días de nacida fui sometida a una operación de la cual quedaron repercusiones en mi hueso que impidieron el desarrollo y crecimiento de mi fémur derecho. A raíz de esto se produjo un acortamiento en mi pierna derecha con diferencia de 5 cm y con una desviación en mi rodilla (genu valgo) que está causando el desgaste de esta, una escoliosis en mi columna y un des balance en mi cadera.
Estando en mi último año del colegio fui sometida a una cirugía de alargamiento en Bogotá, Colombia donde hacen este procedimiento, Io cual me impidió terminar mis estudios. Fue un año completo de mucha ansiedad, Ileno de noches sin dormir por los fuertes dolores. Y Io más frustrante fue que la cirugía fue en vano porque el hueso de mi fémur se desvió empeorando mi situación que me impide caminar.
Actualmente no puedo caminar por mi misma ni doblar la rodilla, por Io que utilizo muletas y caminador además de requerir la ayuda de mi mama para levantarme de la cama cuando voy al baño. Pensé que este año iba a enfocarme en mi recuperación y graduación escolar, pero al realizarme nuevos exâmenes el doctor determiné que es necesario una cirugía urgente para alinear el fémur y que no se deteriore la rodilla y frenar los problemas en mi columna y así poder volver a caminar. Sin embargo, esta cirugía mi seguro médico sólo tiene cobertura en Bogotá, Colombia ciudad diferente de donde yo vivo, (Barranquilla) pero por el problema del COVID-19 pandemia y además no contamos con los medios económicos y se nos hace imposible viajar.
Ante la urgencia de este procedimiento quirúrgico los médico recomiendan hacer la cirugía en la ciudad donde vivo Barranquilla pero los gastos son demasiados elevados y mi madre no los puede costear. Ejemplos de estos gastos que tenemos que cubrir son: La compra de un tutor externo, gastos de hospital o clínica, gastos del cirujano y anestesiólogo, laboratorios clínicos, rayos-x y extensivas terapias a futuro.
Por eso de todo corazón les pido que me ayuden para poder realizarme esta cirugía ya que deseo caminar bien, libre de dolores y disfrutar una vida sana como cualquier chica de mi edad. Les agradezco toda la ayuda que me puedan brindar, todo su apoyo y sus oraciones para que me vaya bien y pueda realizar la cirugía con la ayuda de todos.
