HELP MARINA PAY FOR BRAIN TUMOR SURGERY (GLIOMA)
Donation protected
Marina Gonzales is a beautiful young mother with a brain tumor (Glioma) and a son with special needs (Down Syndrome & Autism Spectrum Disorder) that needs your help!!
In 2010 Marina was only 30 years old when she was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor (Right Parietal brain mass) with evidence of Glioma). After experiencing such a life altering diagnosis, she visited many specialists and ended up having a brain surgery to remove the enlarged tumor that was located on the right side of her brain. Weeks after the surgery, she started a series of treatments including chemotherapy & radiation. At the beginning of 2011, Marina’s treatments ended and her cancer was in remission, but she continued seeing her doctors for periodic brain scans and follow-up appointments every six months.
After going through this battle, she met the love of her life, Victor, and married him. They wanted to have kids but were not sure if this dream would even be possible due to Marina’s harsh cancer treatment… They talked with Marina’s doctors and they agreed that it was safe for her to have children as the MRIs and other tests did not show any traces of cancer cells in her body. The news filed their hearts and about one year later they were thrilled to welcome their baby son, Víctor Zuriel González who is 8 years old now.
Victor Zuriel was born with Down Syndrome and about 3 years ago he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Since he was born Marina has devoted her time entirely to tend for their little angel giving him all the love and attention he needs; therefore, during these eight years Marina has not been able to work as she dedicates full time taking care of her disabled son. Unfortunately, they don’t have any family living close by that could help her take care their precious son.
A few weeks ago, Marina went to the neurologist for her routine checkup and she received the devastating news that the tumor had returned more aggressively than ever. The MRI results showed a fast and significant growth and she will have to endure a second brain surgery followed by chemotherapy/radiation, therapy etc. If that was not enough, she found out that her insurance (ObamaCare) will cover VERY little of the cost of her treatment and she will have to pay most of the high costs out of pocket… Needless to say that her entire world was turned upside-down!!
Marina’s Brain Surgery is scheduled to take place on August 3rd at FLORIDA MEDICAL CENTER (500 West Oakland Park Boulevard, Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33313).
All this news was really overwhelming and left all of us in shock especially because this time around is different as she has a family, she is a mother of a little boy who REALLY needs her and happily married and in love with his daddy… But God is Great and Marina shall overcome this very difficult situation in her life... She is a fighter and will never give up fighting!!
Victor, her husband, is a hardworking man (he is a cook) and an extremely devoted father to Victor Zuriel and husband to Marina. Despite Victor’s will and determination to provide and care for his family, in the last months he was not able to work as much due to the COVID19 situation as the food industry was hit really hard and the place he was working was closed for a while and now he is working only part-time.
Marina has received some support from friends, family & her church and despite being very grateful & thankful for all the help through these years, she would never ask for this kind of help on her own. So, we are here, on her behalf, asking you to please find it in your hearts to give what you can to this wonderful family who has been going through very difficult situation in life and truly needs and deserves your generosity, kindness and support.
ALL the donation received will be used to help pay for Marina's medical bills as well as caring for her disabled son while Marina is recovering from the surgery and not able to take care of him on her own ( her husband and friends will be helping taking care of Victor Zuriel during this time, but from time to time they will need to pay someone to take care of him due to work schedule)
We are eternally grateful for any donation you can make. We know money is tight during this pandemic, so please know that even U$5 dollars donation would help us to get closer to our goal (NO donation is too small). If you have any question we would be happy to answer. We will keep everyone informed with her progress. Please also share Go Fund Me link to spread the word. Together we can really make a huge difference in their lives!!
We would also like to ask for you to pray for Marina & her family.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your generosity and support!!
God Bless you and your family.
Love, The Gonzales Family
