Hi, my name is Denis, and I am Marina’s son.
I never imagined I would have to write something like this, but my mother is currently facing an extremely serious medical situation, and I am doing everything I can to support her.
Marina has spent her life helping others heal.
Through her work in yoga and holistic healing, she has supported countless people on their physical, emotional, and spiritual journeys. She is known for her kindness, compassion, and deep care for others.
For over 20 years, she has been living in Ao Nang, Thailand, where she also rescued and cared for many animals, giving them safety, love, and a second chance at life.
She has always been someone who gives.
Now, she needs our help.
A short time ago, everything changed.
Marina was admitted to hospital after a rapid and severe neurological deterioration. She experienced intense pain, numbness, and ultimately lost the ability to walk.
Doctors diagnosed metastatic cancer that had spread to her spine, causing spinal cord compression and paralysis.
She had to undergo emergency surgery at Bangkok Hospital Phuket to remove the tumor affecting her spinal cord.
The surgery was successful in removing the critical metastasis, but due to nerve damage, she is currently unable to walk, and her recovery remains uncertain.
She is still in the hospital, in significant pain, and further treatment is urgently needed.
The situation is not only medically critical, but also financially overwhelming.
So far, we have already had to cover:
Emergency hospital treatment in Bali: 7,014 USD
Medical transport to Thailand: 7,565 USD
Around 800,000 THB (~$24,700 USD) in hospital costs in Thailand
There are currently another ~800,000 THB (~$22,000 USD) still outstanding, and costs continue to increase every day.
Although Marina has health insurance with AIA, we are facing serious challenges.
The insurance is currently requiring full upfront payment (“Pay & Claim”), while the claim is still under review. At the same time, we have not received any direct response despite multiple attempts to contact them.
This means we are expected to carry the full financial burden ourselves — without any certainty if or how much will be reimbursed (The policy contains exclusions, which were not communicated with the new policy she signed).
This situation is now beginning to affect medical decisions.
Without a viable financial solution, we may be forced to transfer her to another hospital with a lower level of specialization, which could impact the quality and continuity of her treatment.
In parallel, we are trying to manage everything she has built over the past 20+ years — including her yoga center and the animals she has been caring for. What we know is, that we have to sell it to cover the costs and ongoing treatment and care.
We are raising funds to help cover:
Ongoing hospital treatment and recovery
Further cancer treatment and diagnostics
Outstanding and upcoming medical costs
Support during her recovery period
Every donation, no matter how small, will directly help Marina receive the care she urgently needs.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, kindness, and compassion during this incredibly difficult time ❤️
