Hello everyone, this GFM was made by Marina's family to help her get the medical care she needs for her hyperthyroid.

Marina is an 8 year old pastel calico and our gentle "pretty girl." She loves her sushi roll toy, stealing mac and cheese from our forks, and lounging next to us for pets and attention.

About a year and a half ago Marina was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Last month her blood tests came back and said her thyroid was getting worse. At the vet's advice we upped her dosage. She developed a fever a few days in. The vet kept her overnight and used an IV to give her antibiotics. Unfortunately when she got home she lost her appetite and couldn't take her methimazole (thyroid meds) and began to throw up her antibiotics.

A week of this has gone by and her condition is worsening. After three more vet visits in the last 7 days, there are no answers to her current situation, but a long term goal we are raising money for is to basically kill/nuke her thyroid with iodine and then care for her as needed. However, the shots alone are $1500 and she will need to stay overnight at a specialist.

Multiple pet insurance has denied us, and we are all trying to pull financial weight of helping her out but we will need outside help for the long term goal of thyroid treatment and specialist visits.
