Hi everyone,

My name is Marin Chapa Jr., and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my father, Marin Chapa Sr., and the entire Chapa Family. On November 28, 2024, my father was rushed to the hospital in Mission, Texas, due to a sharp pain in his upper right stomach. After endless tests and a stressful night, he was diagnosed with liver tumors consistent with Liver Metastasis. The hospital doctor recommended we rush him to Houston MD Anderson Cancer Center for further evaluation. After a week of administrative paperwork and insurance pre-authorization, we secured an appointment at MD Anderson Cancer Center located in Houston, Texas. At MD Anderson, my father had several procedures conducted, and on January 15th, 2025, that feared word, cancer, was confirmed. Metastatic Liver Cancer with a primary cancer source of the pancreas is the official diagnosis. My father is devastated by this news, but his spirit is strong, and he will fight this battle with all his will and strength. Furthermore, the devastating news plunged the entire family into a world of uncertainty. With God first and the entire family rallying behind him for strength and support, he shall overcome this battle. If you’ve ever met my father, you know he’s one of the most selfless, hardworking, and kind-hearted people around. He’s always the first to lend a hand, the guy who shows up when you need him most. Now, he’s the one who needs our help.

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts but also with hope. Our beloved father has recently been diagnosed with advanced pancreatic and liver cancer, and we are rallying together to support him through this difficult journey. As he continues treatment at Houston MD Anderson, the financial burden is growing ever larger. While insurance covers some costs, there are many out-of-pocket expenses, including medical bills, transportation to and from the hospital, housing, and lost income from time away from work. We want our loving father to focus on healing, not on financial stress.
